Soarin'

FastPass, 4 minute ride, transfer from ECV or Wheelchair

Soarin is a hang glider simulation ride that normally has the longest stand by wait times of all attractions in the WDW theme parks.  Go first thing in the morning or get a FastPass as soon as you get to the park.  Lines may reach 2 hours or more for the majority of the day.  The glider travels through the landscapes of California.  This simulation ride uses sight, sound and smell to make the guest feel like they are in each scene.  Some of the scenes that are visited during the flight a desert, orange groves, mountains, the ocean, a golf course, downtown LA and ends in Disneyland.

Caution: Heights, Motion Sickness, Loud Noises

MouseMom's Tips:

  • Ride first thing in the morning or with a FastPass.

  • If using Parent Swap, use a FastPass so that the other parent is not left outside for long.

  • Due to the loading even in the FastPass line it can take over 30 minutes to ride.

  • When waiting for group members to ride, get something to eat, ride Living with the Land, see Circle of Life, visit the Kidcot or check to see if Jr. Chef is making cookies.

  • Don't look down if sitting on the end, if you are afraid of heights.

  • The front row is better since there are no legs hanging in front of you.

  • Take off shoes that could fall off.

  • Take the kids to the restroom before entering the line due to the length of the line.
