Astro Orbiter

Astro Orbiter is a faster Dumbo like ride, on top of Rocket Tower Plaza.  Due to the slow loading time of this ride the lines get pretty long during the day.   Most of the line is under the Rocket Tower Plaza and in the shade.  Located next to Astro Orbiter is The Lunching Pad where you can pick up snacks and drinks to enjoy while waiting in line.  From the pictures below, you can see how high you are while on this ride.  The views from the ride are wonderful, but not worth the motion sickness I have felt after riding this ride.  This ride is not for those scared of heights or prone to motion sickness.  While on Astro Orbiter you can control the height of the rockets you are riding in by a joystick in the rocket.  Rockets can fit an adult and 1 or 2 small children.  The higher the rockets were in the air the more I felt like I could fall out and motion sickness.  This ride is not our list of MUST DO.

Caution: Heights, Motion Sickness

MouseMom's Tips:

  • Lines will get long during the day, ride in the morning or at park close for shorter lines.

  • Ride while waiting for a FastPass time for Space Mountain or Buzz Lightyear.

  • A great view of Wishes or SpectroMagic can be seen when riding at night, but the view will be brief.

  • Those in your group that do not want to ride AStro Orbitor can ride Tomorrowland Transit Authority since they are next to each other under Rocket Tower Plaza.
